I am currently a 6th year Ph.D. candidate in the department of sociology at THE Ohio State University. I have worked on various projects that center on immigration, educational attainment, fertility, sibling impacts, and family estrangement. I am a mixed-methods scholar, with a preference for qualitative field work.
My current research interest and dissertation proposal focuses on Mexican-origin immigrant families and their experiences of social mobility in rural and emerging immigrant destinations in Central Florida. My work is being funded by the American Association of University Women
American Doctoral Fellowship.
